Permits are available online at https://apps.dnr.state.mn.us/burning-permits or by calling the Township office at 952-955-2446.
Residents must call the number on the permit form prior to burning on that particular day.
All building permits are issued by Carver County Land Management at 952-361-1820.
Legal notices for Township elections, annual meetings, meeting date changes, special meetings, etc. are published in the local newspapers (Sun Patriot News and Herold Journal) and posted on the outdoor bulletin board at the Township Hall.

It is unlawful to perform unauthorized work (tilling, planting) within a road right-of-way, as well as, to deposit snow, or other debris on or next to a public highway or street per MN Statute 160.2715 and Watertown Township Ordinance.
Violations are considered misdemeanors and civil penalties apply if the placement of debris creates a hazard, which extends to the property owner and the person who placed the debris.
A typical right-of-way is 66 ft, extending 33 ft from the center of the road.
In response to resident concern about solar gardens in the Township, the board adopted the Watertown Township Zoning Ordinance No. 6-2021-I. The ordinance is to ensure that all solar garden development be placed and operated only upon owner occupied land.
